Vincent Mays is a communications consultant from New Jersey and an aspiring author, who has a passion for helping others.
Growing up in a New Jersey, Vincent Mays faced many difficult challenges throughout his childhood as well as into his adulthood. With determination, focus, drive, and positive mindset, Vincent was able to overcome these challenges and find great success in both his personal life and his professional life.
It was because of these life experiences that Vincent Mays had to develop mental toughness. Today, he is a firm believer in the importance of mental toughness. It is what got him through the hard times over the years and still does today.
Along with mental toughness, Vincent also believes in being physically fit. He strongly believes that the two go hand in hand. In order to reach one’s greatest achievements and abilities, one must be mentally strong and physically fit to truly be at their best. He has further confirmed this concept and thought process by reading many different books including Mindset by Dr. Carol Dweck, Good to Great by Jim Collins, Grit by Angela Duckworth. Vincent is in the process of writing a book on these topics which will also focus on his personal experiences and what he has learned along the way.
In addition to his working on his book, Vincent Mays has recently started his own consulting firm and hopes to help others with some of the basic life skills. He believes in a balanced lifestyle and knows that in today’s uncertain world it is more important than ever. The people of today, especially the young people, are in great need of mental toughness to be able to withstand all the negative around them. Vincent is hoping to be able to use some of his own experiences and knowledge to help others to get through tough times and stay on the fast track to happiness and success.
Tying into his passion for fitness, Vincent Mays loves football. He is a very big New York Giants fan and follows them on ESPN. He enjoys watching ESPN and reading articles to keep up with the latest on the Giants and the Yankees. He also loves to hear all the back stories of the different athletes and how they came to beat the odds and play professional sports. Many have had to overcome so much throughout their lifetimes and to see their journey end in success is very inspiring to Vincent. His own cousin is Willie Mays and he overcame much back in his day, which has also been inspirational to Vincent and his entire family.
When Vincent is not working as a consultant or writing for his book, he is being active in the community, attending community events or supporting charities and nonprofits. Two nonprofits he enjoys supporting and working with in particular include St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and Water.org. These two organizations represent strong missions and values that Vincent Mays holds true to his heart. Helping out in the community has been a life changing and rewarding experience for Vincent that has helped him grow as an individual on many different levels.
